New One Undershaft tower plan as tall as the Shard

Singapore developer Perennial Group and development manager Stanhope are planning to submit revised plans for the One Undershaft site in the City of London. The site already has planning approval for a distinctive 73-storey flat-top office block, nicknamed the Trellis because of its expressed cross bracing.

Contractor fined after dumping asbestos during refurb job

A Warrington-based construction company has been fined £90,000 after exposing people to asbestos during a renovation project in Stoke-on-Trent. Nathan Cook, prosecuting on behalf of the HSE told Staffordshire Magistrates’ Court how significant amounts of asbestos-containing debris was found to the front and rear of the building under refurbishment. An HSE inspector served two Prohibition Notices and a licensed asbestos removal contractor was then appointed to carry out a clean-up operation.
