Pre-pack deal saves staff jobs but subbies still owed £745,000

A Yorkshire groundworks company has been sold out of administration in a pre-pack deal which saves the jobs of its 15 employees – but suppliers and subcontractors have been left holding £745,000 in unpaid invoices. YPP Groundworks & Civils Ltd went into administration earlier this month and has been acquired by Yorkshire Pro Paving Limited.

TfL submits plan for DLR extension to Thamesmead

TfL has submitted to Government strategic business case plans to extend the DLR rail link from Beckton to Thamesmead through a new Thames tunnel. The extension of the DLR would improve transport connections and enable the construction of up to 25,000-30,000 new homes along the route. Under the business plan, DLR proposes an extension from Gallions Reach to Thamesmead via Beckton Riverside adding two more stations to the route, opening up development potential along both banks of the Thames.

Costain’s planned M6 link road job halted over costs

Plans to build a new road linking the M6 with south Lancaster have been shelved due to soaring cost pressures. The decision is a major setback for Costain, which was appointed last March to deliver detailed design and stakeholder engagement, as well as the construction work, once planning approval was in place. This decision to suspend further work on the plans follows extensive talks between stakeholders Lancashire County Council, Lancaster City Council, Homes England, and Costain.
