Engineers pull-off 220m HS2 viaduct slide in 3 days

HS2 engineers have completed a three-day operation to slide the 1,300-tonne deck of the Lower Thorpe viaduct into position near Thorpe Mandeville in West Northamptonshire. The 220m-long structure is the last of five “double composite” viaducts on the central section of HS2 to be installed using the technique.
