Plans for 700-flats and 600 student rooms in Digbeth

Birmingham-based residential developer Sama Investments has submitted plans for a flagship residential scheme at Garrison Circus in Digbeth. The scheme in Bordesley Green will deliver more than 500 homes and 650 student rooms across four blocks on a current brownfield site. This will include the development of a landmark tower of up to 37-storeys in height.

Bowmer & Kirkland retains strong cash despite margin slip

Derby-based building contractor Bowmer & Kirkland returned stable revenue and profit last year despite more challenging market conditions. Turnover was stable at £1.15bn, while trading profit fell by just over 22% to £47m as overall group margin slid from 5% to 4% in the tighter market. But the overall group pre-tax profit remained stable at £63m, down just 3% on the previous strong performance in 2021.
