Hampshire County Council has fired the starting gun on a £150m minor works framework covering building fabric and M&E jobs across the south. The new four-year framework replaces the current deal due to expire in early 2026 and will run until January 2030, offering work to over 50 firms across seven lots. The council will us the framework to streamline procurement on low-value works with a mix of direct awards on rotation and mini-competitions.
High-end London builder Knight Harwood has boosted operating margins as pre-tax profit climbed to £8.6m on revenue of £140m. The contractor saw turnover dip from £157m in 2023, but sharper project delivery and careful cost control lifted margins from 3.2% to 4.9%, reinforcing the group’s resilient model. Knight Harwood rejigged its leadership last year, with John Knight becoming chairman, Oliver Driscoll stepping up to managing director, and Charlie Everett promoted to finance director.
